We are seeking to appoint an innovative and creative professional, to manage our established services in Hereford (Moor House and Tillington). Moor House provides a personalised recovery service in high quality accommodation for people with complex mental health needs. Moor House is a development of 16 self-contained and spacious apartments in a beautiful period building in Hereford.
With the Tillington service, the manager supports the Reablement Engagement officer to meet the needs of the people we support in all aspects of tenancy management and to assist the individual to develop their skills and confidence to manage their mental and physical well-being and live with greater independence. To assist the individuals to establish themselves in the community and to develop ‘social capital’. Working across sectors to explore and develop local opportunities for leisure, employment, education, and training
The main aim of this role is to provide effective, outcome based, community recovery for people with complex mental health needs. To regularly monitor, evaluate and develop the service, making sure systems are in place to ensure that the feedback and involvement of service users, their families, partner agencies and staff are fully incorporated.
A few things about you and your experience:
Already working in or previous experience of working in mental health services, preferably at the level of senior/team leader or above
Professional Qualification/NVQ Level 5 or NVQ 4 (or working towards) and a minimum of three years management experience
Be an effective leader, positively engaging with your team to deliver exceptional service, reviewing and setting improvement targets, balancing a coaching, support approach for staff teams.
Up to date with current thinking around effective models of intervention which support the principals of recovery - shifting the balance from medical intervention to a psycho-social perspective-with the confidence and ability to impart this to your team
Developing and maintaining good working relations with relevant agencies, keeping abreast of developments in local policy and services, as well as engaging with local community links with a view to identifying opportunities for service enhancement.
Proven experience in promoting a better understanding of mental health issues to both internal and external clients.
