Job Description

Male Bank Support Worker | Walsall

Looking for flexible work that fits around your life while making a real difference in your local community?

At Lifeways, we're looking for caring, reliable and enthusiastic people from across Walsall to join our team of Bank Support Workers. Whether you're experienced in care or looking for a rewarding new career, we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed.

Every shift is an opportunity to help someone live a more independent, fulfilling life. From supporting people with everyday activities to helping them access their local community, you'll play an important role in making a positive difference.

While not essential, a full UK driving licence would be an advantage for this role, as some support activities may involve driving company vehicles.

Why Join Lifeways?

Lifeways supports adults with learning disabilities and autism to live the lives they choose. We believe everyone deserves the chance to be independent, build relationships, pursue interests and feel part of their community.

As a Bank Support Worker, you'll enjoy the flexibility to choose shifts that suit you while becoming part of a friendly, supportive team that genuinely values your contribution.

Whether you're a student, a parent returning to work, looking for extra income, or considering a career in health and social care, this could be the perfect opportunity.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days are the same. You could be:

  • Supporting people with daily living activities
  • Encouraging independence and confidence
  • Assisting with moving and handling, where required
  • Helping people attend appointments and community activities
  • Supporting individuals to pursue hobbies, interests and social opportunities
  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Promoting dignity, choice and wellbeing at all times

Full training is provided, including moving and handling support.

Flexible Shift Patterns

We're looking for colleagues who can be flexible across a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends:

  • 07:00 - 14:30
  • 14:30 - 22:00
  • 22:00 - 07:00

What We Offer

Feel Valued

  • Free DBS check
  • Lifeways Rewards with discounts and cashback at major retailers, gyms, cinemas and attractions
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Optional health cash plan to help with everyday healthcare costs

Feel Supported

  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Comprehensive training from day one
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
  • Supportive managers and colleagues
  • An inclusive workplace where everyone is respected and valued

Make a Difference

  • Funded Health & Social Care qualifications
  • Opportunities for career progression
  • The chance to positively impact lives every single day
  • Meaningful work within your local community

What We're Looking For

We're interested in the person, not just your experience.

You will be:

  • Caring, patient and reliable
  • Flexible and willing to work different shift patterns
  • Passionate about helping others live independently
  • A confident communicator who enjoys working with people
  • A holder of a full UK driving licence

Previous care experience is welcome but not essential. What matters most is your attitude, values and willingness to learn.

Our Values

Everything we do is guided by our Lifeways Choice values:

  • Caring - We put people first
  • Honest - We act with integrity
  • One Team - We work together to achieve more
  • Innovative - We continually look for better ways to support people
  • Courageous - We speak up and take action
