Job Title: Employee Relations Adviser 

Position Type: Full Time / 37.5 hrs per week - Permanent

Function: Human Resources

Reporting to: Head of Employee Relations

Location: Remote working (Within the UK)

About the Role

A key role within our HR  Team, you will provide advice, support and coaching on a range of topics covering generalist HR and employee relations issues such as; disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, performance management, maternity and TUPE. You will be responsible for dealing with queries and providing advice and coaching over the Video call, telephone, via email and face to face to Managers across the Lifeways Group.

You will also participate in various projects ranging from policy updates/writing, data analysis, engagement, reward, compiling reports and presentations, participating in working groups. 

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Provide immediate ‘in the moment’ advice on a day to day basis that takes account the latest employment legislation
  • Advise, support and coach managers to make their own decisions and effectively manage all aspects of employee relations issues.
  • Liaise and work with Head of Employee Relations & Regional HR Managers, escalating cases where appropriate
  • To support with the administration of investigations, disciplinary, grievances, sickness reviews consultations and restructures.
  • Acting as note taker at formal disciplinary, grievance or sickness absence meetings
  • Compiling information and documentation for Employment Tribunal bundles assisting with preparation for Employment Tribunal hearings
  • Support in wider HR projects
  • Support with Company performance & development review processes, including data collection and reporting.
  • Supporting and assisting with engagement projects including pulse and annual engagement surveys
  • Build effective working relationships and credibility with key stakeholders by understanding key business and people related issues through effective collaboration and communication

 Essentials skills, experience and attributes

This is such a  key role in our function with direct impact in to how we become the Employer of Choice 2026. Passion for people, open curiousity will be a huge benefit in this role as well as

  • Proven experience in managing Employee Relations Cases within a busy HR environment
  • Proven experience in managing casework in relation to Employee Relations cases, and managing their own caseload
  • Proven experience of the practical application of up to date employment law knowledge / ACAS process to a variety of employee relations issues
  • Experience of Tupes both in and out, and the HR Process that underpins that (i.e.) impact to Benefits, Terms and Conditions
  • Be comfortable giving immediate advice that is accurate and commercially focused.
  • A strong communicator, able to develop and deliver training and / briefing sessions 
  • A strong influencer, able to get the right balance of coaching, advising and persuasion into every interaction
  • Be the HR representation or Lead on any number of HR Projects eg Maintaining or improving policies,  Monitoring and analysis of key HR Data, creating training material
