At Lifeways, every day is an opportunity to make a difference. Our people don’t just work here — they build fulfilling careers and transform lives. Across the UK, we support individuals with learning disabilities, autism, brain injuries, mental health conditions, and complex care needs, empowering them to live full and meaningful lives.

We’re proud to be one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist support — and even prouder of the dedicated teams who make it happen. When you join Lifeways, you’re not just anyone. You’re part of something bigger — a compassionate community that changes lives, together.

The Opportunity

Deputy Manager – Learning Difficulties | Heron Court, Edinburgh

Location: Good public transport links for non-drivers.

We’re looking for an inspiring Deputy Manager to join our new, purpose built Heron Court development — 24 beautifully designed one-bedroom apartments just over a mile from Edinburgh City Centre.

As Deputy Manager, you’ll support the Service Manager to ensure exceptional, person-centred care is delivered to the people who call Heron Court home. Here, residents enjoy both vibrant community connections and the independence of their own space — and you’ll play a vital role in making that possible.

In this role, you will:

  • Foster an open, supportive culture that empowers your team to deliver high-quality, person-led support.
  • Lead with passion and professionalism, supporting people living with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, and complex behaviours.
  • Champion quality and continuous improvement across all areas of service delivery.
  • Build meaningful relationships with your team, families, and the local community.

You’ll lead with purpose, inspire confidence, and drive excellence — shaping the future of care at Heron Court.

What You’ll Bring

  • Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (Level 5 desirable or working towards)
  • Proven experience in team leadership and operational management
  • A genuine passion for delivering outstanding care — and leading by example

If you embody empathy, courage, honesty, equality, and passion, you’ll feel right at home here.

Why Join Lifeways?

  • A supportive, inclusive workplace culture

  • Reward & Recognition programmes
  • Exclusive discounts on shopping, tech, travel, and more through CHOICE Rewards

Why Now?

This is an exciting moment to join Lifeways. We’re on a bold journey to become the Care Provider of Choice, continuously improving how we support both our teams and the people in our care.

As a leader, you’ll have the freedom, tools, and trust to shape your service, your team, and your own career. We’ll back you every step of the way — because your growth is part of our mission.

At Lifeways, you’re not just a Deputy Manager.
You’re a leader who can make a difference — every single day.
