Job Description

Lifeways are looking for a Care Team Leader to work alongside our Service Manager in the leadership and day-to-day management of our established service , this is an exciting opportunity to join our established team.   • Contract 37.5 hours
  • 9.00-19.00pm -9.00 -16.30pm - it can also be changed  due to covering sickness

Applicants from experienced Care Team Leaders/Senior Support Workers holding an NVQ / QCF in Health & Social Care, (or equivalent) would be an advantage.  However, if you are a dedicated Care Assistant or Carer with a solid track record, and the ambition to progress - Lifeways can offer you excellent training and ongoing development for you to enjoy a rewarding career with us. 

As Team Leader you will lead and motivate a team of support workers ensuring that excellent person-centred care and support is delivered to people supported by Lifeways to enable them to live a fulfilling and independent life.   

You will be involved in the recruitment of, and the ongoing development of support workers by carrying out staff supervisions, candidate interviews and providing general guidance and expertise. 

 You will possess excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with staff, people we support and outside professionals.  In addition, good written communication and IT skills for record keeping. 

 

The role entails supporting the Manager to run a busy 16 bed flat scheme for adults with Learning disabilities. The completion of medication and Finance weekly audits. Teir checks and health and safety checks, attending meetings and training. To complete Staff supervisions and appraisals. Sending and responding to emails. 

We support people with a number of diagnosis include, learning disability, acquired brain injuries, epilepsy, autism, diabetes, and downs syndrome.

This is a very active service and there is a lot of community activities. The people we support like to be busy and engaging in activities both in the community and within the service be host a lot of Parties and BBQ’s in the garden. We also have people we support that attend day centres and go to work in the local area.

We currently have 3 people we support that require support with personal care. As well as a number of people we support that require prompts to maintain good personal and oral hygiene.
